Senior Manager – Modelling Analytics - Government sector focus - Sydney

We view analytics with a 'business' lens and appreciate that technology is just one, equally important, component of sustainable performance along with strategy, organisation, people and process. This means we are primarily focused on our client's objectives and aim to achieve these through our core service offerings of Modelling Analytics, Enterprise Information Management and Economics Policy.

Due to growth, we currently require an experienced Senior Manager to join the Modelling Analytics team in Sydney. With a market focus on the government sector, you will be a strategic thinker who has used a combination of deep analytical skills and understanding of government strategy/policy to drive key decisions and change.

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to provide analytics focused advice with a 'business lens' and consult to businesses within the government industry. Reporting to the Partner, you will work in a team environment, often working simultaneously on multiple complex projects, managing junior team members in terms of expectations and deliverables and liaising with client on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in economics policy, government studies, econometrics, mathematics, statistics, actuarial studies or similar. You will have great knowledge and experience of the mechanics of government, and ideally will have developed senior relationships across the Principal Departments of NSW Government. With hands on, practical experience using your analytical skills you will be able to provide insight supporting key decisions, policy development, business case development, transformational programs, workforce, productivity, cost or efficiency analytics.

In addition to your knowledge and experience using various analytics software packages; e.g. Excel, Access, SQL, SAS, R, Tableau, various geo-spatial tools, etc. you will demonstrate experience leading and working in teams to deliver complex projects, together with good interpersonal and coaching skills. Business development and sales is a large component of this role so previous experience building senior relationships and driving new sales would be highly regarded along with experience developing and writing clear business reports and similar documentation is essential.
