DePuy Mitek, a member of Johnson Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Senior RD Manager, located in Raynham, Massachusetts.

DePuy, Inc. develops and markets products under the DePuy Orthopaedics, DePuy Spine, CODMAN and MITEK brands. DePuy Orthopaedics and DePuy Trauma and Extremities provide products for reconstructing damaged or diseased joints, and for repairing and reconstructing traumatic skeletal injuries. DePuy Spine facilitates fusion of the spine and correction of spinal deformities. Codman provides for the surgical treatment of neurological and central nervous system disorders through products such as hydrocephalic shunt valve systems, implantable drug pumps and micro-surgical instrumentation. DePuy Mitek offers innovative devices in sports medicine for the treatment of soft tissue injuries.

The Senior RD Manager will lead new product development for the Mitek Knee Platform, with the primary responsibility of delivering innovative, high quality products. He or she will provide technical leadership and functional management to a team of engineers designing implants and instrumentation. The Senior RD Manager may contribute inventions, new designs or techniques, which are materially significant in the solution of important problems. He or she will manage budgets and resources, including skilled professionals, and achieve activity goals. Candidates must demonstrate a strong track record in identifying, managing and advancing talent.

DePuy Mitek is a highly collaborative environment. The Senior RD Manager will collaborate with platform and commercial marketing groups to define pipeline priorities and project scope. He or she will coordinate and manage design transfer activities with manufacturing, and partner with regulatory and quality teams to ensure product quality and reliability and compliance. The Senior RD Manager is expected to effectively integrate and manage external development partners.

Candidates must possess strong communications skills. The Senior RD Manager must communicate effectively with cross functional teams and the management board regarding the conduct of projects and associated challenges. He or she will also be expected to manager effective discussions with surgeon customers regarding unmet clinical needs and their feedback on new product development.

In addition to NPD execution, the Senior RD Manager must effectively champion the platform with the experience to identify technologies for key growth areas. The Senior RD Manager is expected to drive process improvements, training and cultural change to improve efficiency and effectiveness of new product development and innovation, e.g. Design Excellence, Project Management Excellence, Outcome Driven Innovation.

Qualifications

This position requires BS in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience including 5+ product development experience OR a Master's Degree with a minimum of 8 years industry experience including 5+ years product development experience. Medical Device experience is highly preferred and regulated industry experience a requirment. Must have the ability to influence across multiple levels and drive accountability and results with his or her team. This position requires an individual who is results performance-driven with successful product launches and possesses strong strategic thinking skills, as well as a big picture orientation with attention to detail. In addition, this position will require a strong track record in identifying, managing and advancing talent. Strong skills around managing budgets and resources, including skilled professionals, and achieve activity goals.
