SENIOR MANAGER, RISK MANAGEMENT

This is the most senior Risk role in Tasmanian Public Finance Corporation (TASCORP) and is a direct report to the Chief Executive. The role also has substantial exposure to the Board. Functionally it is responsible for the management of TASCORP's credit risk and the identification, quantification, measurement and control of market and liquidity risks. The Senior Manager, Risk Management oversees Credit Policy, Client Lending Policy, Market Risk Policy, Liquidity Policy and Capital Policy and leads the asset and liability management thinking within TASCORP. Direct reports to the role are Credit Manager, Asset Liability Manager and Credit Analyst. The successful applicant will become a member of the Credit Committee and the Asset and Liability Committee.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate abilities in planning and organising work commitments around changing priorities and deadlines, and be able to guide and motivate both experienced and inexperienced staff. Exceptional analytic skills are required, as well as well developed verbal and written communication skills.

It is expected that applicants will have considerable (10+ years) first hand experience of balance sheet risk management techniques from within wholesale/institutional banking, coupled with a very good understanding of financial markets and instruments. A well developed practical knowledge of banking and finance law and international regulatory guidelines is also required.
