Senior Manager - Systems Process Assurance (IT/GC) - Sydney

Our Business and Controls Assurance professionals work with clients to identify opportunities to improve their key controls across business and technology processes. We strive to provide value adding insight to improve control effectiveness across processes, technology and people.
You will work directly with partners and senior stakeholders at clients, providing assurance and advisory related services through all major milestones of the sales and delivery lifecycles including , identification, proposal development, planning, fieldwork, reporting and debrief processes. In addition to working with partners to secure and deliver individual proposal opportunities you will work on specific projects to substantially improve and evolve the capability and quality of our processes, deliverables and thought leadership so as to increase revenues to the Australian firm.
As a trusted risk advisor you will deliver and identify risk and control opportunities which support our growth strategy and help our financial services clients achieve their risk outcomes.
To be successful in this role you will need strong banking and or wealth management credentials and experience in one or more of the following areas; finance, risk or business systems / platforms, operating model or business processes through previous roles in operational risk, external audit, internal audit or large change / project programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding key risks and assessment and testing of: key controls across business processes and financial reporting processes; and IT controls in a complex and diverse business environment
- Reporting findings and recommendations to client in line with their business strategy and risk appetite and against good practice / industry benchmarks
- Develop and nurture our talent though on the job coaching. Actively coach staff as a coach or as a Team Leader on individual engagements.
- Strong business development focus and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Establish and build your internal network across tax, advisory and assurance
- Actively identify and pursue opportunities with your key client contacts at your target accounts with partner support
Key attributes, skills experience:
- Degree qualified with post graduate studies highly regarded
- Good understanding of COBIT, ITIL, Service Orientated Architecture, third party controls including SAS70/GS 007 guidance
- Record of success, with a minimum of 6 years, in identifying/managing/leading complex engagements, preferably in a professional services or consulting environment, overseas FS experience highly regarded
- Good business development skills and the ability to work as a trusted advisor to senior management
- Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing, confident in front of large groups; assertive but diplomatic
- Able to coach teams effectively for challenging engagements and get the best out of team
- Strong people skills - ability to quickly build trust, credibility and rapport with senior stakeholders and team
- Solid understanding of banking and wealth management processes and good practice built up over 4 years
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines and budgets
- Constructive challenging approach able to effectively prioritise and delegate where appropriate when faced with multiple competing requirements
