ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs daily maintenance and monitoring of Local Area Networks (LAN) / Wide Are Network (WAN) services on multiple sites globally and Global Area Network per established procedures. Primary focus will be around the Remote Access Solutions, User Internet Access Solutions Local (Firewalls), and 3rd Party (Non-Bio-Rad) Network connectivity solutions. Strong knowledge and experience working with Cisco and Juniper switches, Cisco and Juniper Firewalls, Juniper SSL solutions, and in-line antivirus solutions. Strong knowledge and experience with VLANs, VTP, and network protocols ' particularly EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF. Leads the deployment of resolution to networking/business problems. Develops documented processes, procedures, and work instructions. Sets up and coordinates the installation or changes of Global Local Area Network components, and upgrades. Implements best practices into established procedures and guides others in the implementation of networking best practices. Uses experience in variety of computing environments to guide other members of the networking team. Provides guidance to less experienced members of the networking team in performance of their tasks. Performs tier 3 network troubleshooting and problem solving. Leads the effort to identify trends of network problems and coordinates cause and effect analysis efforts. Establishes strategy and policies for system security. Identifies and addresses known network vulnerabilities. Creates network disaster recovery policies. Works closely with geographies to execute major elements of initiatives such as system installation

EDUCATION:

BS degree in computer science or related field Current CCNP desired

EXPERIENCE:

8 years network administration experience SKILLS: Extensive knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), LAN/WAN systems, LAN protocols, VPN/SSL solutions, and Antivirus/Malware solutions. Extensive knowledge and troubleshooting skills with Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls. Extensive knowledge of network monitoring tools and their usage. Extensive knowledge of security solutions and industry best practices Extensive understanding of the latest security issues and threats and best practices and technologies being used to counter them. Strong understanding of regulation requirements of networks (SOX, HIPAA) (Organizational Skills) Able to keep self and others focused and organized in complex situations.
