DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Administrative Services Department consists of General Services and Information Technology divisions. The General Services division is responsible for performing internal support functions that keep other City Departments operating, and it contributes to the overall functionality of City-owned facilities and equipment and ensures timely communication among the myriad operating units located throughout the City. The division includes Building Maintenance, which includes Building Custodial Services, Fleet Operations Division, the Design Print Center, which includes the Mailroom. Information Technology (IT) provides computing services to the City and is responsible for purchasing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software for all City departments. The division also provides user support and training, installs software applications, and seeks out and implements technologies to insure the most efficient delivery of services to both internal and external customers. JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, the position of Senior Network Analyst performs work of moderate difficulty designing, installing, and maintaining citywide computer, network, communications, and security systems. This position coordinates responsibilities with the Network Supervisor and performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor ??s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field. Five years experience in network engineering which involved the design and maintenance of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Network (WANs), Network and Communications Equipment, Telephone Systems, Network servers, workstations, and printers. Equivalency: Eight years experience in network engineering which involved the design and maintenance of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Network (WANs), Telephone Systems, Network and Communications Equipment, Network servers, workstations, and printers. Licenses and Certifications: NCIC Certification required within six months of hire/reclassification. Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver ??s license within required time frame. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certification, and Cisco Certified Networking Professional Certification. Expertise with Cisco networking technologies with a proven track record of designing and maintaining network infrastructure. Major experience with setting up and maintaining network switches, LANs, WANs, firewalls, VPNs, and WiFi infrastructure. Ability to set up and maintain network monitoring. Proficiency with troubleshooting and resolving network problems at a highly technical level. Experience with WhatsUp Gold, SideWinder, Radware, McAfee, and SAN technology.
