Senior Operations Services Engineer Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada

Primary Focus

Promote consistency of LP operating and maintenance practices, and encourage communication and use of best practices through coordination of various change management processes for regional operations, the RSTC communication protocol and assistance in budget review. Key stakeholders include Regional Services departments and Operations technical committees and will work closely with other Operations Services and Engineering departments.

Responsibilities

Coordinate operational input, authorization and communication of changes identified through change management processes on behalf of Regional Operations and OSD. This includes the LP MOC system, Engineering Standards/Specification Change Request/Reviews, Technical Standard Deviation Requests, the OMP review/change process, and any others that exist.

Manage the operations subject matter expert (SME) contact lists to facilitate timely and accurate response to change management requests. These lists are to be vetted through the Regional Services Technical Committee (RSTC).

Implement and oversee the RSTC communication protocol to ensure easy, efficient and effective use for the Regions.

Assist with implementation of RSTC initiatives in order to maintain progress on these initiatives and reduce burden of work for Regional representatives to RSTC.

Provide technical assistance to Operation Analyst in the review of capital and operating budget submissions to drive cross-regional consistency and cost-effectiveness.

Provide engineering, operational and technical support to Operations Services, regional engineers and technical committees, and other LP departments on issues related to operating and maintenance issues.

Identify, investigate and recommend improvements, modifications and additions to the pipeline system or operational processes/procedures related to ongoing and new operational issues by working with cross-functional stakeholders across Liquids Pipelines.

Promote consistency of cross-Regional operations practices and encourage communication and use of best practices.

Coordinate and compile Operations Due Diligence reviews on potential acquisition opportunities.

Qualifications

University degree in Engineering (eligible for Professional Engineer designation)

Minimum 2 years experience in Enbridge Operations, other working knowledge of pipeline field operations and maintenance may be considered

Minimum 2 years engineering experience for EIT, 4 years experience for Engineer, 7 years experience for Senior Engineer in a variety of positions with progressive responsibility

Excellent knowledge of Enbridge and industry subject matter experts

Ability to effectively collaborate with and influence management, peers, and stakeholders

Demonstrated capability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments while managing stakeholder expectations

Ability to regularly shift between planned and unplanned activities, while remaining effective

Effective two-way communication skills, including verbal as well as written forms

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
