SENIOR PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST Job in Chaska, Mn 55318, Minnesota US

Job Description:

·        This individual will be expected to interpret MRP systems and enterprise wide Oracle based demand systems for the execution of purchase orders for inventory as well as non-inventory related items.

·        Plan and procure primary raw materials needed to support reagent, consumable and expense purchasing function from BCI approved sources, with total quality, cost and schedule requirements, managing one more commodities. Manages supplier base and contract adherence.

·        Develop a strong working knowledge of systems, materials, and sources to minimize risk to the business, following up on performance to schedules and work with others departments to assure the production schedules are met.

·        Keep abreast of industry trends on assigned commodities and work to improve overall quality, while meeting our cost reduction and delivery objectives.

·        Resolves invoicing and accounting issues as they arise.

·        Work strategically and use the latest tools to identify improvement ideas as well

·        Reports to the Manager for Reagent and Consumable Expense team.

·        This is an exempt salaried position.

Essential Responsibilities include:

·        Will be expected to support Strategic Sourcing projects working with the Commodity Managers to identify cost savings initiatives.

·        Identifies and drives continuous cost improvement using Lean Six Sigma tools.

·        Supports Value Engineering by identifying opportunities, negotiating pricing and getting bids.

·        Conducts supplier business reviews with Key Suppliers and performs deep dives where gaps are identified.

·        Responsible for managing risks before they become potential issues impacting the production line.

Qualifications:

·        The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment as well as be an individual contributor and possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.

·        This position requires math proficiency, negotiation and computer skills, using Microsoft Office software suites and other software programs.

·        Must have a four year college degree with 3-5 years’ experience in Procurement and/or Planning.

·        Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment and professional certification is a plus.

·        Familiar with Lean Six Sigma philosophies

·        Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets, prepare formal reports of findings and provide decisions to support findings.

·        Comfortable in presenting information / proposals to groups using Microsoft Power point

·        Demonstrated ability to work in cross functional teams both on site and off site.

·        Low Cost Region purchasing experience
