Senior Product and Portfolio Analyst, Retail Banking

Full Job Description

- Identification and quantification of performance trends, customer behaviours and commercial opportunities and risks through application of quantitative analytical skills
- Supporting product managers in identifying and driving value enhancing initiatives though provision of analysis and management information
- Driving the wider Business Strategy agenda through leveraging our data to create value for customers, colleagues, the community and the company.

This role requires exceptional analytical ability with the emphasis on quantitative skills and the production of robust analysis. The jobholder will have knowledge of financial and management accounting, statistical techniques, excellent communication and influencing skills along with personal organisation and the ability to work individually, as part of a team or in a leadership role. The role holder will drive the implementation of initiatives and regularly deputise for the Head of Product Analytics.

Planning (5%):
- Development and maintenance of a set of analysis plans that meet the requirements and agreement of the Product team.

Ad Hoc Project Based Analysis (50%):
- Undertaking analysis to understand customer behaviour, product and financial performance to understand product performance, support product plans and drive key strategic initiatives with limited support from the Head of Product Analytics.

Recurring Analysis (10%):

Experience and Knowledge
- Strong analytics experience within financial services products-segments.
- Experienced in creating business models, both financial and consumer behavioural.
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques.
- Working knowledge of financial and management accounting.
- Expertise and practical experience of creating customer segmentation models.
- Expert user of SQL and or SAS.
- Working knowledge of data warehouse and MI environments and practices.
- Extensive experience of product pricing required, preferably across multiple product lines.

- Able to define, structure and prioritise work for themselves as well as others, but who also has the flexibility and capability to change priorities when circumstances change.

- Must be a good team player who uses positive energy in channelling direction and capability to coaches team members.

- Able to present complex analytical concepts to all levels of the busines
