Senior Product Executive recruitment

Responsibilities
- Monitor trends in the life protection market, mortgage market, market dynamics and competitor activity in order to identify and exploit actual and emerging opportunities and mitigate threats through protection product design and development activity.
- Analyse product features and benefits and benchmark against competitors terms in order to identify ways in which Friends Life’s proposition strengths can be optimised and weaknesses mitigated through appropriate product design and development activity.
- Design new and enhance existing life protection propositions taking into account factors such as pricing, regulation, legislation, service capability, underwriting, IS capability, sales requirements, partnership requirements and competitive environment in order that developments and enhancements optimise Friends Life’s competitive positioning throughout the product lifecycle.
- Deliver life protection product technical and subject matter expertise internally (e.g. to support proposition development, implementation and tactical marketing activity) and externally (e.g. to existing and potential business partners) in order to optimise the reality and perception of Friends Life’s technical excellence and thereby support new business opportunities.
- Represent the Protection Business Unit in the initiation and development of relationships with third parties (e.g. through presentations, joint workshops, research studies) in order to engage potential partners’ interest in, and increase their propensity to choose or maintain their relationship with Friends Life.
- Manage the Protection business unit’s response (including individual subject matter experts’ contributions) to tenders / invitations to tender (ITT) / requests for information (RFI) from assigned potential business partners in order to establish and maintain strong working relationships and the commitment of internal stakeholders and subject matter experts and meet potential partners’ time, quality and scope requirements.
- Develop strong and sustainable working relationships with internal and external subject matter experts and suppliers, key Protection SBU and Friends Life personnel in order that proposition design, development and maintenance is optimised and that there is buy-in from all key stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Substantial marketing / commercial experience in the protection environment.
- Good working knowledge of UK life market and distribution.
- Detailed market knowledge of the protection marketplace – life, general, healthcare.
- Ability to understand the drivers of profitability and courses of action to improve profitability.
- Track record of development of successful product propositions.
- Ability to work independently and to be self driven / demonstrate initiative.
- Ability to influence real and virtual teams and motivate at a team and individual level.
- Strong, effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Good planning and organising skills
- Demonstrable confidence and assertiveness.
