Senior Project Planner

Role purpose:

 

- Work with stakeholders, impacted parties, involved workstreams and other suppliers to the project (not vendors) to build out a detailed project plan in Clarity for their project

 

- The plan will show resources required, dependencies, constraints, key milestones, management check points, gates (per HSBC methodology), decision points  and critical path

 

- It will include contingency calculated on a risk assessed basis following proscribed programme methodology and risks will be identified for the overall PM to manage

 

Role responsibilities:

 

- Set up and lead appropriate planning workshops to build the plans

 

- Maintain the plan on a daily basis and track and report progress against it

 

- Ensure the overall PM is kept fully appraised of progress and will keep downstream resource managers appraised of progress and when their resource needs to be provided / work needs to begin, providing progress reports to the PM in the proscribed format as needed. 

 

- Support the PM in managing the use / release of contingency as the project progresses

 

Experience Qualifications:

 

- PM qualifications (Prince 2, PMI) required

 

- Expert knowledge of MS Project or Clarity required - Clarity expertise desired but not required

 

- Must be able to demonstrate previous planning ability

 

- Financial services experience desired but not essential

 

- Experience in building and managing project plans involving both IT and business change required

 

- Global experience  involving multi national teams in a matrixed environment desired
