Job Description: The Opportunity: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Quality System team. SEL seeks a Senior Quality System Specialist who is responsible for assessing processes and practices for conformance to quality standards and coaching area managers on improvements. We are seeking a Senior Quality System Specialist with more than 5 years experience to implement quality system requirements, communicate quality approaches to customers, and act as a resource to colleagues with less experience. This Senior-level position will be responsible for collaborating with SEL leaders at more than 10 design services sites in the USA to audit and improve the quality system implementation. Senior Quality System Specialist Responsibilities: Educate and collaborate with department leaders on implementation of quality tools and quality system requirements. Perform internal audits to determine compliance with customer, regulatory, ISO 9001, and SEL requirements. Develop, maintain, and report on quality system measures to evaluate and improve the quality system effectiveness for exceeding customer?s expectations. Execute the customer survey process and identify improvement actions with process owners. Plan for quality and communicate quality approaches to customers, management, employees, and sales representatives. Plan, prepare SEL leaders for, and host 2nd and 3rd party audits, as assigned. Mentor quality system specialists and internal auditors on auditing and quality system implementation processes. Manage special projects as assigned by the Quality System Manager. Follow and improve quality and efficiency of Quality System processes. Qualifications: BA/BS degree, business administration or quality management preferred Five or more years experience applying quality assurance/control principles and practices Demonstrated success implementing quality systems in design and/or design services companies Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills Strong word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database skills Willing to travel 30% to 50% Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of professional design services environment Knowledge of electric power systems equipment and practices ASQ certifications An Award Winning Company Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
