Senior Reporting Accountant recruitment
Overall Scope of Position
The Senior Reporting Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements for all Amundi Group UK entities and analysis of financial information for management purposes, ensuring controls are in place to help prevent inaccuracies, fraud, and non-compliance with statutory and appropriate accounting principles. The Senior Reporting Accountant should keep abreast of current accounting, fiscal and statutory regulations, as well as keeping an awareness of new technologies, best-practice methods and industry/business development.
The Senior Reporting Accountant will act as deputy for the Head of Finance as required from time to time.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Month-end responsibilities
Produce the monthly financial statements for all Amundi Group UK entities alongside the Head of Finance, applying the appropriate accounting standard (French UK GAAP) and making subsequent IFRS adjustments ready for Paris Head Office reporting. Prepare a month-end timetable and other workflow controls with adherence to group reporting deadlines.
Main month-end tasks include:
• Ensure all fee and expense accruals and prepayments have been properly calculated and recorded
• Post payroll data and bonus accruals and update schedules as required by Paris Finance
• Ensure costs have been correctly allocated to various cost centres and recharged to other intra-group companies as appropriate
• Review of PL for the 3 London entities
• Ensure all internal reporting deadlines are met
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Proper maintenance and preservation of all accounting records in keeping with statutory and internal requirements
• Perform monthly controls on general ledger accounts, in particular those relating to payroll, bonuses and investments.
• Perform necessary IFRS adjustments to the local accounts
• Report the IFRS financials to Paris Head Office via Arpege, including analysis for segmental reporting and prudential reporting (e.g. Basel II)
2. Management reporting
Produce and develop monthly and quarterly management reporting, including detailed analysis of financial aspects of the business.
• Work with the business to produce information that can aid senior management with operational and strategic decision-making, such as producing detailed revenue analysis reports, cost reports, etc.
• Produce month end packs, dashboards and other management information for presentation to senior management and/or Paris Head Office.
• Develop processes to report accurate AUM data for the 3 entities.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
• Manage the budgeting and re-forecast processes
• Working with the departmental heads to produce the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts
• Collate and prepare the templates and supporting schedules
• Submit the budget and re-forecasts in Hyperion within the timescales defined by Paris Head Office
• Provide guidance to Paris Financial Control and senior management/department heads where necessary
4. External Reporting
• Contribute towards the final annual statutory accounts for the limited company
• Prepare the quarterly FSA reporting and enter data into Gabriel.
5. Other General Duties
• To act as deputy for the Head of Finance as and when required
• To assist with the preparation of Corporation Tax returns and related compliance
• To co-lead/assist in all audits of the department: statutory audit (quarterly and annual), ISAE3402 (annual) and internal audit (as required)
