The Role
This position will ensure that data operations are being performed in a way that maximizes data quality and service to the Business Units. This role will assist in the effective use of data within Credit Market Services (CMS). The selected candidate will help the push for the integrity and quality of Data within CMS's activities and while maintaining a focus on customer service to the business units. The incumbent will participate in the implementation of new policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
With a minimum of supervision, following established procedures performs the following duties, as needed:
- Performs entry of data into systems, such as Ratings Process Manager (RPM), and maintains system log files to ensure accurate records of data entry into systems.
- Validates ratings information prior to rating release
- Responds to inquiries regarding analytical and publishing matters requiring research (both company and outside inquiries). This includes historical data, ratings confirmation, etc.
- Performs user acceptance testing, when necessary.
- Will work with Data Analysts and IT staff to help develop future processes and automation.
- Performs accurate extraction of data from internal and external documentation and accurately enters the data into RPM.
- Being able to formulate ideas and opinions into business documents for presentation to senior management.
- Once Training is provided, must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the Business Rule, policies and RPM and be able to apply.
- Provide other basic ad hoc data requests for management or the business units
Skills
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics
- Previous work experience in a related field is required
- Basic understanding of multiple sets of data sets: Fixed Income, Equity, Derivatives
- Requires intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access skills, including the ability to create queries, tables and reports within MS Access
- Advanced communications skills
