Senior Sales Executive recruitment
Role Overview:
Based at Tower Hill in London, this is a senior position within the UKI New Business team. Reporting to the Sales Director, New Business the function of a Senior Sales Executive is to achieve new business revenue and develop new business relationships with prospective companies.
The Senior Sales Executive will sell the full suite of Dow Jones core information solutions but will focus on selling to Communications and PR buying centres.
The successful candidate will have proven new business experience within a business services marketplace and / or exceptional knowledge of Dow Jones products and services. Specific knowledge of PR/Communications will be an advantage.
What are the key responsibilities?
• Meet new business targets.
• Identify prospect companies and individuals within the PR/Communications buying centres across any industry vertical.
• Analyse opportunities based on knowledge of the business issues affecting the targeted industry.
• Prepare compelling and relevant value propositions for potential prospects.
• Monitor and record activity and conversion ratios.
• Teamwork - work on business initiatives with other members of the New Business team and Account Management colleagues and other departments (including Marketing and Product).
• Develop product knowledge and clearly communicate the value proposition and benefits of the Dow Jones products and solutions.
• Manage the sales forecast and pipeline to ensure accurate recording of prospecting activity, conversion success, and active sales opportunities at each stage of the sales process Manage client information - keep accurate and clear records within the global CRM system to provide a solid deal history, showing clearly the steps taken to reach closure on new business deals.
• Incorporate the Sales process into workflow - Understand the steps in the sales process and how these can positively influence sales success. Adhere to the stage Sales Process and complete and record relevant job aids.

• Proven successful track record in a new business role
• Strong results orientation, with the commitment and drive to achieve a new business goal in a demanding and competitive business environment .
• Passionate about closing business, with a “can do” attitude with the ability to work independently where needed.
• Excellent communication skills (listening, questioning, written and verbal) to ensure the Dow Jones value position is clearly articulated to prospects.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in face-to-face meetings to ensure smooth progression of opportunities through the sales cycle.
• High level of business awareness to help build credibility with the prospect, spot potential opportunities within a peer group or industry sector and express the benefits of Dow Jones in the appropriate business context
• Exceptional negotiation and closing skills to build a solid and persuasive business case.
