Senior Software Engineer - Client Side/Web Dev
Opportunity:
The Web Development group is a service-oriented group involved in the creation, design, development, and maintenance of web sites and web-based applications. This role primarily involves development and enhancements to the client side framework for the MemoryLane and Classmates web site, but may also include development for partner sites, as well as demonstrations, presentations, and internal tools. As a Senior Client Side Software Engineer you will work with numerous teams to brainstorm and develop solutions for rich customer experiences on our websites. Balance these ideas with best practices and existing methodologies to keep management and publishing of web experiences scalable.
Responsibilities:
Architect and engineer standard and compliant site pages and presentation layer components.
Build and/or review prototypes, templates, and components designed to show the capabilities of the latest technologies, solutions to existing problems, or possible alternatives to current features.
Develop strategies for SEO, page load optimization, and tools for monitoring user behavior.
Work with the Quality Assurance team members to debug, fix, and deploy bug defects to production.
May include some tasks to maintain and enhance the company intranet to increase the relevancy and use companywide.
Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a well rounded front end developer, where you have focused on working with cross-browser side technologies and page optimization.
Be proficient in jQuery, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, JSON and XML
5+ years of JavaScript
3+ years of XHTML/CSS
2+ years of XML and related technologies (XSLT, XPATH, etc)
Expert level knowledge of up to date W3C standards.
Extensive knowledge of cross-browser support and OS compatibility intricacies.
Extreme proficiency with HTML and CSS including a strong knowledge of inheritance.
The desire for further professional development growth with AJAX, JavaScript, JSP and JSTL.
Experience with one or more of the following tools; Eclipse, Dreamweaver, NetBeans and/or WebStorm.
You'll be a favorite if you can show experience with high traffic sites, working with CMS systems, working with advertising networks web tracking systems, developing mobile applications, and/or building SEO friendly sites.
