Job Description
Calypso Technology is seeking a software engineer, who will be responsible for the design and development of new modules and enhancements, as well as maintenance of existing components. The Calypso system is a large scale software product for the capital markets supporting trading, risk management, and processing of various financial products such as Asset Management, Interest Rate, FX, Equity and Credit Derivatives.
We have several positions that are open and that we are accepting applications for:
General Skills Requirements:

5+ years of experience in commercial software including Java, Swing, JDBC, RMI, J2EE

Excellent object-oriented analysis, design development skills
-
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL including working experience with Sybase and/or Oracle
-
Hands-on familiarity with software tools such as Eclipse, JBuilder, and CVS a plus
-
BS and/or MS in computer science or related field
Interest Rate Derivatives Group
The position is with the Interest Rate Derivatives group, which is responsible for the behavior of Interest Rate Derivatives throughout the platform, and additionally responsible for a number of cross-asset front office tools. This position is an opportunity for an engineer who is interested in the financial markets and enjoys creating innovative end-user experiences to participate in the development of one of the capital markets leading front office application suites.
Responsibilities:

Lead IRD projects through full development life cycle

Mentor team in San Francisco and Mumbai

Design, develop and implement new features and modules in company's financial software system, and improving existing ones

Perform unit testing on new features

Responsible for bug fixing for Interest Rate Derivatives Module
Skills Requirements in addition to General Skills and Requirements:
-
Deep areas of understanding and improving OO architecture for supporting IRD products;
-
Ability to remote manage will be a plus as team is split between SF Mumbai;

Extensive Front Office IRD knowledge will be huge plus, but if not IRD at least
-
Strong asset classes experience and knowledge (e.g. Bond, Equities) will be required. Product knowledge should extend from product structuring, product pricing to full product life cycle with products like Swap,Swaption, FRA, Futures, etc
Integrated Clearing Group
This position is with the Integrated Clearing group, which facilitates clearing of listed and OTC derivatives across many markets. This position requires strong software design and architecture capabilities, as well as deep understanding of global derivatives markets.
Responsibilities:

Design and develop financial software to facilitate clearing of listed and OTC derivatives.

Expand, maintain and architect a product that performs complex back-office processing, risk management and systems integrations.

Design and develop multiple user interfaces, tailored to different types of users.

Perform unit testing on new features.
-
Work closely with Product Management and Quality Assurance to understand and guarantee the quality of the product.

Perform a variety of bug fixes, across a complex collection of products.
Skills Requirements in addition to General Skills and Requirements:

Experience in capital markets and/or finance a plus.

Experience with software tools such as Eclipse and SVN a plus.

Knowledge of relational databases and SQL including working experience with Sybase and/or Oracle.
FX Derivatives / Front Office Tools Group
The position is with the Foreign Exchange Derivatives / Front Office Tools group, which is responsible for the behavior of FX derivatives throughout the platform, and additionally responsible for a number of cross-asset front office tools. This position is an opportunity for an engineer who is interested in the financial markets and enjoys creating innovative end-user experiences to participate in the development of one of the capital markets leading front office application suites.
Responsibilities:

Use Java and Swing to design and develop graphical user interfaces

Design, develop and implement new features and modules in company's financial software system, and improving existing ones

Perform unit testing on new features
-
Work in close liaison with Quality Assurance team and Technical Publications team.

Assist Helpdesk personnel with customer problems

Work with Product Management, Marketing to translate and understand accurately product specifications
-
Responsible for bug fixing for several Calypso modules, including Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Equity Derivatives
