The Mechanical Engineering department is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to provide program support through computer modeling and hand analysis of Air, Ground and Space based electro-optical systems.

The position requires significant interaction across internal engineering and program groups as well as with customer representatives.

Candidates should be capable of defining and maintaining cost and schedule on individual activities and also be able to act as a lead analyst with responsibility for other structural analysts as part of a program team.

Work requirements include participation in early system design, evaluation of structure responses due to thermal loads and launch and on-orbit dynamics and subsequent requirements verification for complex electro-optical structures.

Work will encompass proposal and initial design trade studies along with subsequent detailed design evaluation and verification. Real time support, planning and technical direction of program dynamic and modal testing is required.

Overtime expected/as required. Travel Required: less than 10%

Education Required:

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related and minimum 15+ years of relevant experience or a Masters Degree and minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.

Experience Required:
* Experience with software tools FEMAP and NASTRAN or equivalent
* Experience with launch and on-orbit dynamics, spacecraft finite element modeling, frequency and mode shape calculation, structural control and stress analysis
* Experience planning and coordinating both dynamic and modal testing of systems, along with correlation of test results to analysis
* Experience supporting proposal activities, including scheduling and budgeting exercises
* Experience as a lead structural analyst on programs

Experience Preferred:
* Experience with thermal distortion analysis, system pointing and performance predictions
* Experience with structural analysis of optical systems, including windows, mirror assemblies, telescopes and electro-optical sensors
* Effective documentation and presentation skills

US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a security clearance
