Senior Substation Engineer, Electric Utility Industry 1829m Job in Oakland 94601, California US
Perform HV and EHV Substation physical and electrical design, including project engineering and project management, detail design and review of other's design, job estimating, constructability review and coordination with procurement and construction. The successful candidate will act as the project engineer for several projects and direct the work of younger engineers and drafters. **Principal Engineer opportunities exist for candidates who materially exceed qualifications outlined below.** Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, BSEE, required
• Registered Professional Engineer, PE; required
• 10+ years experience performing detail design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations to include one-line diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing and routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, construction cost estimates and project scheduling
• Experience in electrical and physical design of high voltage (utility grade, 15 kV through 500 kV) substations preferred
• Must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
• Previous consulting engineering firm experience preferred
