SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER Job in Ft Lauderdale 33301, Florida Us

The purpose of this mid-level position is to provide, control, plan, implement and support the college's systems infrastructure. Focus of work is to enhance productivity and efficiency of college-wide automated systems operations. Establish, develop and execute new technology initiatives and perform growth analysis and capacity planning. Has responsibility for developing and implementing strategic systems recommendations as they impact the college. Perform senior role in technology initiatives decision making process.  

 

Minimum Education:   Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred with course work in information systems or in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.  

 

Minimum Experience/Training:  Four years or more of progressively advanced technical experience in a technology oriented field. Demonstrates success in executing tactical responsibilities in a dynamic Information Technology environment.  

 

Minimum Certifications:  Certification or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Certification:

 

MCTS Exchange Server, MCTS Lync Server and Office Communications Server, MCTS SharePoint and SharePoint Server, MCTS SQL Server, MCTS System Center, MCTS Virtualization, MCTS Windows Server,

MCITP Virtualization Administrator on Windows Server 2008 R2, MCITP Enterprise Messaging Administrator on Exchange 2010 or 2007, MCITP SharePoint Administrator 2010, MCITP Lync Server Administrator 2010 - and - MCITP Certification Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008 or MCITP Certification Database Administrator 2008 or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

 

Specialization required in one supported application: VMWARE, Linux Administration, Linux Shell Scripting, Natural, Adabas, Predict. Specialization may be substituted by a certification in A+ or Server+.

 

Working knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts preferred.  

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

·         Verbal and Written Communication Skills, Critical Troubleshooting Analysis of Systems, Critical and Logical Thinking Skills, Expertise in Computer Systems. Advance knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures for installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, repairing microcomputer hardware, software configuration, network components, server hardware, Windows Operating systems, and email systems are required.
