Position overview
Position overview: The role of Senior Talent Analyst is to provide advanced analytical support and generate insight that will enhance the organization’s ability to maximize the value of its Human Capital Investment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated advanced strategic modeling experience in high level business analytics, such as resource planning, utilization, budgeting, forecasting and HR/business metrics. Emphasis of the Talent Analytics group is on generating insight and drawing strategic conclusions from hands-on data mining and organization, not simply reporting. Senior Talent Analysts will be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of processes, structure, management and the Human Capital department, including documenting procedures and project management. This is a highly demanding internal non-consulting position being developed in a new function within the Human Capital area in a fast-paced, professional services environment. It is not an external client-facing Management Consulting role, nor has the potential to develop into one.
Key responsibilities
- Use advanced Excel modeling and analysis on areas such as resource planning, utilization, budgeting, compensation and/or talent management analytics.
- Organize, clean-up and decipher large data sets and construct Excel models to assist with reporting based on management demands.
- Improve and automate current reporting capabilities through use of macros and advanced spreadsheets skills.
- Use data analysis to generate insight, and use advanced PowerPoint skills to present the analysis to the organization in a meaningful and impactful way.
- Focus on gaining in-depth knowledge of the Business going beyond data reporting into drawing conclusions and generating insight.
- Work closely with Finance to provide monthly metrics and reporting, including building new ad-hoc reports as requested.
- Help develop the Talent Analytics function, promote its vision and services and gain the trust of the business leaders. Strong communication skills required.
- Build relationships with key stake holders , including understanding needs and demands for data, analysis and regular reporting.
- Ensure the highest of data integrity standards and process standardization to ensure consistent reporting.
- Be able to think “outside the box” and help with creating new reporting that aligns with the changing needs of the Business.
- Manage the end of year compensation process, audit compensation data, calculate bonuses, and design compensation metrics.
- Use an understanding of (HR) systems to work effectively with HRIS.
- Assist in various ad hoc requests and special projects involving analysis and heavy spreadsheet modeling.
Skills and requirements
• Required competencies include advanced analytical skills, model building, project management, critical thinking and communication.
• Bachelors' degree required in Finance, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative area.
• At least 4 years significant experience in consulting, banking, or data analytics (not including internships).
• Advanced technical skills. Proficient use of Excel, including macros, pivot tables, advanced formula knowledge required.
• Advanced PowerPoint required.
• Ability to work with large sets of data, look beyond the numbers and understand the impact on various aspects of the business.
• Ability to manage and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information, including demonstrated experience in this area.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interact with and build relationships at all levels globally.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft or other HR systems is a plus, but not required.
