JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ability to prepare and review complex federal corporate (C and S), multi-state tax returns, and partnership and trust returns.
- Ability to review and prepare all levels of individual returns.
- Review workpapers and prepare and follow up on review notes.
- Able to identify and prepare adjusting journal entries for tax purposes.
- Review of tax line coding.
- Identify book/tax differences.
- Manage your workflow and communicate project status to partners
- Perform accounting tasks necessary to adjust client’s books for tax preparation
- Prepare financial statements
- Preparation of gain/loss calculations on assets disposals.
- Review basic and complex tax returns on-screen.
- Preparation/Review of tax provision.
- Research technical issues using online tools and preparation of written communication on tax issues.
- Resolve minor issues directly with the IRS and other tax authorities. Assist with resolving more complex issues with IRS and other tax authorities.
- Participate in client meetings. May lead client meetings with smaller clients.
- Understand and apply policies from tax quality control documents.
- Identify opportunities for expanding services to existing clients.
- Maintain and develop client relationships where appropriate.
- Develop and train staff.
- Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.

- Minimum of 5 years experience in public accounting.
- Strong Technical Skills
- CPA certified
- Proficiency with personal computers including spreadsheet software programs. Experience with CCH, RIA, and/or Engagement is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting. Masters preferred.
- Experience in Corporate, S-Corp. and/or Partnership returns, as well as individual returns. Trust and Estate background is a plus
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Quick Books is a must
