Senior Telecoms Engineer - Avaya

Senior Telecoms Engineer (Avaya), with 3rd/4th line support, implementation and design experience, required for our client, a leading travel company, based in Crawley, West Sussex.

The Role

To provide technical support to the technology teams as they work to deliver business-led technology projects (and enhancements to existing projects) for the organisation as a whole. The role will form an essential part of the new technical guidance team, the purpose of which is to guide and advise the management team on current and future initiatives, strategy and best practices.

Main Duties

To focus on developing, supporting and managing the telecoms infrastructure. (Call Routing, Queue Messages, Scripts, Skills, VDNs)
To provide technical input into technical based solutions that will meet the business needs of the business both now and in the future.
Hands on delivery of the IT and telecoms infrastructure aspect of IT projects (including setup and configuration)
To manage the transition of IT/Telecoms projects from Development into the Support team for ongoing operational support
To support the IT function in testing and delivering enhancements to our existing product suite
To manage internal or external resources (both IT and commercial), to deliver the above
To deliver and/or manage the delivery of specified aspects of ongoing IT and Telephony projects
To pro-actively identify (current and potential) problems and trends and propose solutions and recommendations to optimise systems performance and stability.
To mentor and share technical experience with other members of the wider IT team
To provide guidance and advice to the management team on future and current initiatives, strategy and best practices.
To assist/liaise with contractors, third parties
To ensure all relevant information/paperwork relating to Technology projects is delivered to a high standard and in line with the requirements of both the project and IT support teams. (Call Routing Map)
To assist, where required, in the delivery of any project that falls within the remit of the business
To assist, where required, in any and all aspects of the Telecoms systems during Crisis situations or high volume peaks.
To take ownership of the Avaya and Wallboards and ensure data relevant and up to date.
To provide third line IT support to the business when required.

Main Skills and Experience

IT/Telecoms strategy, design and delivery experience within the Avaya environment.
IT/Telecoms strategy, design and delivery experience with Verint
Network administration and or Support.
Significant project-based experience (either support or development)
Previous task planning and management experience.
Support and administration experience with an Avaya PBX
Hold relevant Avaya University accreditations
Demonstrable experience within contact centre environment
Technical understanding of Avaya WFO (Verint) solution integration
An effective team player with a flexible attitude, willingness to help and a desire to learn new skills and technologies
Travel industry exposure may be of benefit
