Senior Tooling Engineer

Our client is a heavy manufacturer (large job shop) producing high volume metal components for Original Equipment Manufacturers. The environment has regular exposure to noise and dirt/fumes. This
position will experience moderate to high physical activity involving routine lifting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Intermittent cold and hot temperatures.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Accept leadership in concept, layout, design and detail of both cast and trim tools. Organize and lead troubleshooting projects to resolve production problems with cast and trim tooling. Provide guidance to Tool Designers as required. Work with tool room personnel - providing direction and details needed to get the work done accurately and most efficiently. Work with Process Engineers - assisting them with shot end component designs, flow and thermal simulations and continuous improvement on reducing scrap. Work with Estimating Group - costing out engineering changes, new cast and trim tooling. Reports to the Tooling Business Unit Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:  BACHELORS in Engineering and 10 plus years experience in die cast tooling. At least 5 years experience designing die cast tooling. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, and Solidworks and.or AutoCad
