Senior Trainee Technical Claims Handler

Full Job Description

This is a key role within the claims team, with a specific responsibility for encouraging others within the team to broaden their own knowledge ofthe claims handling processes. You will be involved in providing development and support to the claims team in the form of Audits, 121 coaching, mentoring and training.
Your remit will also include the management of a large claims spend, which has a direct impact on the profitability of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Claims Handling

The proactive handling of claims, from initial notification through to final settlement in accordance with the claims procedures. This includes managing an interesting and varied caseload of claims, up to a value of £500,000 per claim (dependent upon qualifications and experience).

Team Delivery

Assist with the daily management of the team workflow including incoming calls, e-mails, customer payments and the registration of new claims. This must be in line with the service level agreements for the team.

Referrals

To manage day to day referrals from staff, key suppliers, underwriters and business partners producing MI to understand and identify any emerging patterns and liaising with the Team Manager and - or Technical Claims Handler or Consultants in regards trends and development requirement of the team.

Training Development

Individual - To provide both one on one and team coaching and mentoring sessions to develop the ski

Our client is looking for someone with the following skills and experience :
Ideally have extensive knowledge in Commercial or Personal Lines Property claims handling.

Proven track record of handling high value property claims

Strong coaching and mentoring qualities

The ability to manage key operational relationships both internally and externally

A clear appreciation of the need for exceptional standards of customer service

Strong negotiation skills - both verbal and written.

The ability to assimilate and comprehend information

Willingness to travel to other sites as and when the business requires (usually 1 day a month)

QUALIFICATIONS

Full Claims Academy training program offered. Must have achieved or be working towards Dip CII (120 credits)
