Senior Upstream Research Analyst

Role Focus
Shale gas and tight oil have made North America one of the hottest upstream regions globally. We are seeking experienced professionals to play a pivotal role in the evolution of our upstream analysis to meet the growing needs of our clients.
Making an impact from day one, you'll author reactive reports on the upstream events that really matter in North America, as well as producing in-depth analysis on the region's most significant plays. Working as part of the Lower 48 upstream research team, you’ll quickly establish yourself as a recognized industry expert.
Through the role you’ll also be a key contributor to our thought leadership in the wider energy sphere and play a leading role in presenting our analysis to both existing and prospective clients.
Knowledge Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline such as geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering or petroleum economics, energy finance, etc.
- At least five years of experience in, or analysing, the energy industry.
- Knowledge of financial sector (energy related) and/or operator experience is a plus.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong and proven written and presentation skills.
- Ability to produce clear and concise client ready deliverables under deadline pressures
- Experience with economic valuation techniques is required.
- Familiarity with analysing corporate accounts is preferred.
- Excellent communication and well developed relationship skills.
- Results orientated and proactive working style required.
- Proven creative thinking and brainstorming abilities.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload.
