Senior Valuations Controller (VP)
Investigo are representing a top tier Investment Bank in their search for a Senior Valuations Controller.
The role is a senior member of a team of 4 controllers who are responsible for performing Independent Price Verification (IPV), impairment review for ABS assets globally and supporting the financial reporting for ABS-based funds in the Global Asset Management (UK) business. The team operate as part of the wider Credit Valuation Control team in Global Markets Product Control.
Knowledge Experience / Qualifications
- Excellent track record of experience in a Valuation Control or Product Control role
- Bachelors degree (1 class or 2:1 preferred)
- Strong understanding of ABS
- Strong understanding of AFS and LR accounting; impairment methodologies e.g. IFRS 9
Role Purpose
- IPV analysis of ABS assets held globally and ensure that these are appropriately valued with respect to current best practice and Accounting Standards
- Perform / review impairment analysis on ABS asset classes
- Ensure processes and methods by which IPV and impairment are captured in the books is appropriate
- Review fair value measurement levelling on illiquid assets on a quarterly basis
- Monthly financial reporting support to the Retail Banking and Wealth Management Finance team for ABS-based funds in the Global Asset Management business
- In addition, identification and participation in the implementation of initiatives that relate to valuation process / system enhancements and accounting changes as well as working with the Front Office, Business Leads and other stakeholders to enhance the control environment.
