East Kootenay Regional Hospital is a Regional Referral Centre that provides services to approximately 80,000 people within the East Kootenay Region.  The 69 bed, four floor facility underwent a large renovation in 2006 to its Emergency Department, Ambulatory Care Unit, Diagnostic Imaging areas.  EKRH is centrally located 1 km from downtown Cranbrook and very close to all amenities!

 

OR, ACU, ED, Day Care Surgery, Physio, Lab, DI, Pre-Surgical Screening, Stress test, Respiratory and Psych are on the first floor.  The second floor holds 22 surgical beds, a four bed ICU and four bed Obstetrical unit, as well as the in-house Pharmacy.   On the third floor is 27 medical and three pedicatric beds, as well as the Oncology and Renal Dialysis Units.  The fourth floor is Biomed. 

 

As Shift Coordinator, you are responsible for patient placement, bed utilization, and staffing during weekends, evening, and night shifts.  This position acts as a clinical resource to staff in resolving problems regarding patient care, staffing levels and bed utilization.  The Shift Coordinator is accountable for ensuring excellence in the provision of patient-centered care throughout the hospital on assigned shift.  This position works weekdays (14:00 to 22:00 hours) and weekends (10:00 to 22:00 hours).

Job Requirments:  Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, plus three (3) years’ recent related clinical experience and two (2) years’ recent supervisory experience in a complex health care environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses’ of BC (CRNBC).  Current CPR certificate.
