Showroom Consultant/Sales Assistant Job in Harrogate, Yorkshire UK

A successful Yorkshire based home interiors company providing bespoke upholstery, made to measure curtains and blinds, along with a vast collection of soft furnishings and accessories are looking for a very enthusiastic, motivated individual that has a passion for both home interiors and sales.​ Experience in upholstery and soft furnishings would be beneficial but not essential. Position available immediately.

You must be able to deliver excellent customer service whilst maximising sales opportunities.​ In addition to the normal day to day duties of a sales advisor you will also be expected to put into practice your own creative ideas by assisting customers with their interior choices. ​

You will be responsible for:

- Working closely with customers to educate and inform them of the benefits of our products and services over and above the competition.

- Establish customer needs and handle any enquires produced by the client quickly and effectively.

- Working hard to build relationships with customers and negotiate with potential clients about their choices in order to generate additional revenue for the company.

- Process customer orders in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring both the manager and client's approval.

- Work closely with team members to ensure sales and marketing opportunities are maximised.

- Assist the chief designer with showroom displays, client mood boards and creative interior ideas.

- Be commercially aware and regularly examine the competition and existing conditions in the industry.

- Maintain the overall appeal and presentation of the showroom ensuring stock is current and product information is up to date.

- Offer customer suggestions on various fabric and furniture decisions to help close the sale.

Skills required:

- Be self-motivated, proactive and able to work on own initiative.

- Be professional, friendly and personable.

- Be passionate about the retail industry in particular upholstery and soft furnishings.

- Previous sales experience preferential.

- Have quality customer service expertise.

- Possess creative and innovative sales ideas.

- Possess excellent communication skills both written (including email) and verbally.

- Be able to absorb information in a timely manner.

- Build rapport easily.

- Be able to successfully negotiate and overcome customer objections to achieve positive results.

- The successful candidate needs to be able to follow given instructions, tight deadlines and work under pressurised conditions.

Remuneration:

- Permanent position (full or part time considered).

- 5 days per week. Please note that working patterns are flexible however you will be expected to work weekends regularly.

- Harrogate based.

- Driving license holder preferred.

- Opportunity to earn up to £25,000 pa based on the expertise and experience of the candidate.

- 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays).
