The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. RMG personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.
We are currently seeking an experienced AML Compliance Specialist working within the Compliance function in Singapore to cover the business activities in Singapore and in the wider Asian region, working alongside AML colleagues across Asia.
Job duties include:
- Working with on-boarding teams to advise on matters in relation to on-boarding clients for Macquarie's Singapore entities;
- Reviewing due diligence performed by the on-boarding teams and ensuring proper documentation is maintained;
- Escalating issues identified in the on-boarding processes and providing practical solutions to the businesses;
- Driving on-going due diligence review for client accounts;
- Keeping abreast of changes to regulatory requirements for AML/CTF and communicating changes internally with a view to ensuring established policies, procedures and processes are in compliance with new requirements;
- Preparing monthly reports to Senior Business Management on AML/CTF matters in Singapore;
- Conducting investigations on suspicious transactions/activities and prepare STR reports to the STRO;
- Liaising with auditors and regulators on AML/CTF queries related to Singapore;
- Assisting with training for the on-boarding teams and front office personnel on on-boarding and local AML/CTF regulatory requirements in Singapore;
- Providing AML/CTF advice to businesses on new products/businesses in Singapore;
- Working with Asia AML team on regional AML polices and guidance.
Suitable candidates will have experience gained within investment banking, legal or regulatory environment, a sound understanding of financial markets and the ability to maintain and enhance productive relationships with staff and regulators. In addition, you will also have:
- Minimum 3-4 years of AML experience (advisory, on-boarding and transaction monitoring experiences) in Singapore;
- Willingness to take on a diverse product range and to leverage personal experience and skills into new areas;
- Outstanding communication skills;
- Working knowledge of regional capital markets and banking laws and products;
- Commercial astuteness;
- Self motivated personality with the ability to make things happen;
- Ability to work independently, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
