Site Administrator- Urgent Care
LOCATION: Austin, TX
POSITION SUMMARY
The Site Administrator is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating the operations of the Immediate Care clinical office and its employees. They will coordinate and participate in a variety of supportive patient care activities to assist medical professional personnel in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership and direction to both clinical and non-clinical staff. This includes the following: ensuring adequate coverage, coordinating the schedule, assigning tasks, resolving conflicts, coaching, and performance evaluations, directly supervise and provide direction to the subordinate team leaders. This includes interviewing and hiring potential employees, training, completing performance evaluations, and disciplining employees with performance or personnel issues.
- Encourage teamwork, open communication with staff to provide consistent, high quality service to patients and community.
- Utilize appropriate resources and services to meet both clinical and fiscal targets set forth by Immediate Care.
- Ensure staff and site is compliant with quality assurance, HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, safety and clinical and administrative policies and procedures set forth by the Immediate Care.
- Coordinates and participates in a variety of patient care activities in the examination and treatment of patients to include: vital signs, blood draws, medication administration, mini-mental assessments, assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, records data for medical record.
- Evaluate patient care with emphasis on patient response; monitors providers’ plan of care from patient assessments, medical record and other record information; maintains liaison with physicians to ensure efficient and effective patient care services.
- Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of work environment; set up, clean and disinfect examination rooms; monitor and ensure appropriate inventory of medical supplies in examination rooms; replenish as required.
- Contributes to patient care through patient and family education, distributing resource literature and community service recommendations and referrals as needed.
- Represents Immediate Care by displaying a respectful and caring manner with patients and their families.
- Independently problem solves and utilizes resources to obtain patient information when patient is unable to communicate.
- Participate in development and implementation of general policies and procedures to provide for the physical and emotional comfort and safety of patients.
- Review and approve payroll for staff.
- Follow up with patient complaints and document resolution.
- Ensure the facility both inside and outside are adequately maintained.
- Maintain and control inventory of clinical and non-clinical supplies.
- Review and approve all invoices and submit to accounting for payment.
- Prepare daily activity reports to include patient volume, length of stays and transfers.
- If patient is requesting prescription; chart information must be checked to confirm accuracy and legitimacy of request. Please note drug allergies, contact number and pharmacy information.
- Once task is completed, the copies, notes and miscellaneous should be filed in the patient chart with initials and date of completion. Chart should be then returned to medical records for filing.
- Review charts for completion and follow up with clinicians and billing department as appropriate.
- Triage of both walk-in patients and call-in patients and determine the severity symptoms/concerns and assess on an urgent/non-urgent basis.
- Attend management team meetings as required.
- Maintain competence through continuing education and in-service training.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
EXPERIENCE
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- 2-4 years prior clinical experience, preferably in critical care or ED.
- Prior management experience required.

- Ability to triage patient problems appropriately, seeking guidance as needed
- High degree of verbal communication and interpersonal skills to determine needs, provide information, instruct, and provide emotional support

- Ability and willingness to travel as needed to meet operational needs
