Software Architect recruitment
Our client is a Global leader in financial data, database, and business intelligence application software provider head quartered out of New York. In addition they also have offices in Europe, America, Latin America, Africa and Asia and is experiencing large amount of growth currently in Asia. The clients mission is to provide and deliver the “best in class databases” with the most accurate and timely economic, financial data from around the globe.
With their Hong Kong office currently going through expansion they are currently seeking an experienced “Software Architect” to play a key role in supporting the business growth in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific region.
Responsibilities:
- Key contributor to the architectural design of systems that combine business processes with technology to support the continuous growth of our business. Design solutions and applications focus on collecting, transforming and distributing data and content.
- Create high quality solution designs which address all architectural concerns including business, information, application and infrastructure.
- Accountable for the delivery of design solutions that promote flexibility, scalability and high performance.
- Research new technologies and recommend best methods and techniques for meeting our business requirements. Stays informed of and educated in evolving technologies and presents discoveries or recent innovations to development team.
- Play a leading and advisory role in structuring long term architectural needs.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor team members on process and engineering best practices.
- Works with developers, analysts, and users to perform technical analysis of business and functional requirements submitted. Documents technical analysis process and conclusions.
- Work hands-on in partnership with offshore systems and development teams to drive complex technical design across system domain boundaries, and develop or enhance advanced systems for the company.
- Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
- A passionate "code librarian", driving high code quality, as well as proper architectural layering, componentization and reuse across the organization.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or its equivalent.
- 8 years of application design and implementation experience.
- 3 years minimum experience in architecting complex, distributed software systems.
- Expert knowledge in .NET, MS SQL Server, Oracle, ETL tools.
- Ability to work on multiple, major projects and deliver on time according to project schedules with minimal management oversight.
- Proven ability to lead a group through an architectural development process.
- Independent and have the initiative to learn and take on responsibilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong, concise and effective verbal and written communication, collaboration and facilitation skills.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.
