Software Developer (BSG) recruitment
You will be working on high-profile projects that integrate with existing systems, yet the design and implementation of these projects will be driven by you. You will be involved in a wide range of greenfield development, ranging from collaborative software design to database tuning and from UI design to implementing high-availability web services. The systems written within the team are used right across the firm and are integral to the trading system. You will be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and will utilise cutting-edge technologies. You will take control of the direction of your projects, and will also regularly interact with professionals within diverse areas of the business.
Requirements:
You will be able to write robust software that can be used in a live trading environment. You must be able to design, build and deliver well architected systems which will be used across different teams and will involve both server and client side components. They are looking for people who are good at reasoning about complex distributed systems, understanding how best to store information relating to these systems and how best to represent it visually. My client look for the best and brightest in all their teams and this role is no exception. This role would suit a developer looking to contribute to the operational success of an algorithmic trading firm by writing software that enhances the systems they already have in place by making them more operationally efficient.
You must also have:
- A desire to challenge existing practices, if their proposal would improve the current method of working.
- Demonstrable ability to design and deliver a project from end-to-end.
- Good interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with team members on a regular basis.
- An appreciation of good software architecture and core algorithms data structures.
- An excellent academic record – good A-level results combined with a degree in Computer Science.
Technologies
- OOP (C# or Java etc)
- Silverlight, WPF or similar UI platforms
- Relational Database experience (SQL)
- Experience of WCF and Tibco Rendezvous may also be beneficial.
