Position Summary
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs, codes and unit tests design solutions.
- Contributes effectively as a member of the team; takes ownership of individual assignments with support from more senior Engineers as necessary.
- Provides third tier support when required.
- Participates in activities such as reviewing marketing requirements, writing and reviewing software functional specifications, and design reviews.
- Contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements
Minimum Technical Skills Experience
- Microsoft.NET including C# / VB.NET
- Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS
- Microsoft Office, Excel
Preferred Technical Skills Experience
- Visual Basic 6
- Web Development (HTML, HTTP)
- Web Services and related technologies (SOAP, XML)
- Microsoft SSIS
- Microsoft SSRS, Crystal Reports
This is an entry level position. The role includes the responsibility to support legacy systems and technologies including Visual Basic 6.
Other Skills Experience
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles, processes and technology
- Knowledge of physical database structures; ability to analyze, manage, tune databases for performance; knowledge of relational database concepts; disaster recovery; best practices
- Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
