Experienced Software Developer required for London-based financial software house.
We are a small but growing software development firm, based in London’s West End that produces enterprise-wide software for the asset management industry. Operating in an Agile manner, we use Kanban practice, test-driven development and continuous integration to manage our development and release processes. We are now looking to hire an experienced developer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience developing medium to large systems within financial institutions. They will also be familiar with continuous integration systems and automated unit and acceptance testing strategies; experience with Cucumber or similar tools would be an advantage.
Candidates should have experience of integrating multiple programming languages and a desire to gain experience in new languages and technologies as they become available. Knowledge of development in Ruby and the Rails framework would also be useful but not essential.
The roles and responsibilities associated with this role include:
• Developing integrated systems for a growing client base of asset management firms.
• Translating user requirements into development items, seeking clarification where required.
• Assuming a senior role within an existing team of developers.
• Taking a lead role in weekly planning, development work and retrospectives.
• Ensuring that the development team is familiar with developments in technology and the asset management industry.
• Communicating with clients and users at all organizational levels on a regular basis.
