Software Development Engineer
Our Client is looking for developers of varying levels of experience to develop next generation Front Office applications for Traders. These are low latency, high throughput systems that use large datasets from either database or in-memory grids.
If you are a smart, self-motivated individual who is keen to make a difference, we’d love to speak to you. You’ll have a genuine interest in development and the application of technology and in return they don’t pigeon-hole don’t staff into specific roles. This means they will be expecting you to work with their customers to figure out what they want. When it comes to delivering, they will want you to work on all aspects of the system rather than just the bit you’ve seen before.
They look for clear concise communicators who have a focus on getting things right for the customer. They like to work in a collaborative environment so you must have an open and analytical mind.
Technical Skills:
- You may not have demonstrable experience in all the technologies below but we’ll be expecting a good cross section of them.
- They value strong computer science skills and quality and so you will need:
- Minimum 4 years experience developing windows applications using .NET and C#. Knowledge of .NET version 4.0 is a plus.
- Experience in WPF and WinForms
- Experience in developing and implementing WCF services
- Good grasp of distributed, fault-tolerant systems (caching, algorithms optimization, memory management)
- Strong database skills and SQL skills. Working with huge database is a plus.
- Experience with an industry-leader ORM, like Entity Framework, NHibernate or Link2SQL.
- Experience in multithreading, parallel programming is a plus.
- Knowledge of the messaging technologies like TIBCO EMS is a plus
- Experience of embedding quality into the development process, ideally test-driven development
- Experience with unit testing is a plus – unit tests, mock frameworks (NUnit, TypeMock/RhinoMocks)
Education:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
