Current Top Secret - US Citizenship Required about security clearance definitions Position Description Software development engineer for the Information Solutions Mission Systems Team located at the Boeing Denver Engineering Center in Aurora, Colorado. Software development for geospatial programs in OM, planning, data archiving, visualization, and imagery/video/product management. Development includes coding and methodology in J2EE, JAVA, C++, C, web-based architectures (thin and thick clients), service oriented architectures (services), and Waterfall or Agile/Lean/Scrum approaches. Under minimum direction the candidate will interact directly with the customer to generate requirements and demonstrate or distribute produced end products. Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Performs software project management and software supplier management functions. Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics. Executes and documents software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Communicates regularly with Program Management. Prepares and presents status briefings and reports on assigned projects. After hours support as required. Some travel as required. Basic Qualifications For Consideration Do you meet the criteria described in the Typical Education / Experience section of this requisition? Do you have a current/active Top Secret (TS) security clearance or a current Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)? (Note: If you held a security clearance within the last two years, your clearance is considered current/active). Typical Education/Experience Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years experience, Master's with 7 or more years experience or PhD with 4 or more years experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Other Job related information The candidate must be a US citizen and currently possess an active Top Secret clearance, an SSBI completed less than 5 years ago and ability to obtain SCI access. The position is contingent upon clearance verification and program/customer concurrence. Applicants MUST include their security clearance level, investigation type and investigation date clearly on their resume. Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Jira and DOORS. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Experience/knowledge of the geospatial domain and GEOINT systems is a plus.
