Software Engineer – Co

Job description
Systems and Technology Group has openings for co-ops / interns in software engineering. We develop, test, and support operating systems, firmware, and IBM storage software for IBM Systems (i, p, x, and z). Our products include z/OS, z/VM, IBM i, and AIX. We produce leading-edge technologies in parallel computing, cloud computing, virtualization, Linux / kernel development, storage development and management, networking, and internet technologies. SW engineering tasks include: code design, writing, porting; testing and debugging; customer support; document and interface design; project management; and system and network administration. Basic requirements: candidates should have strong communication, analytical, and programming skills (for example: C/C++, Java, assembler, scripting, etc.) on different platforms. Candidates with at least 6 months of team-based working experience are preferred.

Candidates working towards degrees in fields related to Software Engineering and/or Information Technology (for example, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, technical writing, human computer interaction) will be considered. Candidates in different years of study (freshman, junior, etc.) will also be considered.

Positions may be available in different locations, including: Austin, Beaverton, Poughkeepsie,Rochester, or Tucson.

Positions may be also available for different seasons and durations (for example, Summer / Fall, Summer only).
