Software Engineer I

Job Description:

Advanced software technologies are critical to Intelligence and Information Systems and Raytheon's strategic business areas.  As a key contributor to these areas, Defense and Civil Mission Solutions provides multi-INT ground systems, unmanned systems technology, environmental information management systems and satellite command and control. We are the world leader for unmanned aerial vehicle ground stations.  Also, we provide large-scale information processing, information integration and visualization systems for intelligence, satellite and space-based programs for commercial and DoD customers.

The candidate will work in an Agile development environment on teams responsible for either modifications to an existing software code baseline or development of the next generation of unmanned systems technology.  Most of the modifications are being performed in C++. Java or J2EE and the new development work is being performed in Java or J2EE utilizing a SOA-based architecture.  All software development, either new development or modifications to existing code, is done in a continuous integration environment coupled with automated testing.

The candidate is expected to be a self starter, resourceful, and proactive about knowledge elicitation and knowledge sharing.

This position requires the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
