Responsibilities
As an integral member of Patch’s Engineering team, you will own and develop Patch’s internal Reporting and Analytics platform, powering and informing our teams in both Headquarters and the Field. Specifically, you will:
• Architect, build, and ship extensible solutions to delivering Big Data and real-time data
• Code using Ruby on Rails and NoSql solutions like MongoDB
• Gain insight into nearly every business group at Patch
• Help us create unique ways to visualize our data
Requirements
• A passion for building software that makes life easier
• Experience in Ruby on Rails and NoSql solutions (preferably MongoDB)
• A desire to get your hands dirty with learning new ways to move and visualize data
Experience or interest in the following would be ideal:
• Developing APIs and Web Services
• Hadoop, MapReduce
• JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX
• Geo-location, geometry and mapping
• Open source projects
• Comfortable with git
