Software Engineering Manager Job in Northamptonshire, Midlands Uk

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager based in Northants to join this global electronics company.

Due to continued growth they are seeking an Engineering Manager, whose job will initially be to manage the software teams developing real-time embedded software for the latest products. You will oversee the management of all phases of the software development from definition through to release ensuring software is developed in line with defined processes.

There is a succession plan in place with this role and they would like the successful candidate to take over from their Senior Engineering Manager who is responsible for a broader range of disciplines including electronic design.

The ideal candidate would have a software engineering background, have progressed into engineering management and been responsible for both Hardware and Software who is happy to focus on a large team of software engineers initially in this role whilst bedding into the company and ultimately moving into a role where they would be responsible for all of engineering.

Key skills/experience:
Strong background in managing software engineering teams
Experience of real-time, embedded software
Strong experience in change management
Excellent people management skills
Experience of any of the following: Waterfall, Agile, Scrum would be beneficial
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Candidates will ideally be qualified to a degree level in a related discipline. Due to the nature of work applications will only be considered from candidates who hold British Citizenship, Dual nationality or have been a resident in the UK for the last 10 years.
