Software Support Installation Engineer
Our client is a dynamic software and systems consultancy based near Portsmouth in Hampshire.
They are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer who has experience of supporting, installing and maintaining a suite of software products on client sites.
The role is broad and requires elements of software configuration, installation and user training, windows server support, server build and install, as well as excellent communication and customer management skills.
The successful applicant will have the following technical skills and experience:
• Knowledge of Windows XP/7/Server 2003/Server 2008 installation and support
• Basic PC/Server hardware builds (installing cards, hard drives etc)
• Awareness of database environments e.g. Oracle/SQL Server
• IIS
• Excellent communication skills as this will be (in part) a customer facing role
• Highly self motivated and able to learn quickly and with minimal supervision
• Evidence of good written skills as production of quality documentation will be key
• Willingness to spend time working on customer sites predominantly in the UK and potentially overseas. This can involve the occasional lengthy trip but this is rare.
• Previous experience of software installs, system builds to a high standard
