SOFTWARE SUPPORT ENGINEER
Client:
Our client a leading software company requires a Software Support Engineer for role in North City Centre.
Role:
The Software Support Engineer is responsible for implementing and supporting the company applications as part of the Customer Relations team as well as providing technical expertise to all areas of the business. This exciting and dynamic position will involve interacting with other teams including QA, Development Sales, as well as communicating directly with customers.
Responsibilities:
- Deploying, supporting and trouble-shooting our in-house software using Apache, PHP, MySql, and Tomcat technologies, according to Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist in the testing of deployment options for software provided by the Company
- Work with QA to develop standard builds and configurations of oftware as well as Apache, PHP, MySql, installation scripts, etc
- Provide direct support to field sales team for technical aspects (Network/hardware/operating system/ software specification and configuration) of tender submission and sales proposals
- Develop internal documentation and Standard Operating Procedures with respect to deployment and troubleshooting of software solutions
- Management of cloud server infrastructure
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Higher level qualification (degree or higher) in computer science or equivalent education and experience
- CCNA certification or higher is considered a bonus
- MCP certification or higher is considered a bonus
Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience, commercial experience deploying and supporting web server applications and underlying infrastructure
- Proven experience configuring and administering Apache, PHP, MySql
- Demonstrate experience managing Linux and Windows servers
- Proven experience in computer networking
Skills:
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrable planning and organisational skills
- Experience working as part of a team and on your own
- Knowledge of cloud computing solutions (Desirable)
- Knowledge of virtualization environments (Desirable)
