Software - Systems Administrator

Job Description: The client's New Campus East (NCE) Active IT Program was established to provide the infrastructure services required to build out and maintain the NCE facilities. Software System Administrator expertise is needed on the program.

The Software/System Administrator (SSA) will work as part of an elite and agile team responsible for maintaining and improving system functionality through proactive interaction with the customer, comprehensive understanding of their primary GEOINT exploitation system, and knowledge of the production mission. The successful candidate will providing on-site technical and system administration support through troubleshooting, identifying and isolating issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing appropriate solutions to anomalies as they occur. The SSA will actively troubleshoot Operating System (OS) and geospatial software integration issues and make corrective recommendations. The SSA will demonstrate extensive knowledge of intelligence productions systems used by GEOINT analysts.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of GEOINT analyst's various software suites and functions to include but not limited to RemoteView, SocetGXP, Socet Set, Google Earth, ArcGIS, ENVI, and Image Scout. Likewise the candidate should be able to quickly respond to application related issues, resolve on the spot problems (where possible), replicate the issue for internal analysis/diagnosis, and prepare technical documentation accurately depicting the problem and/or solution for feedback to developer/vendor.

The environment may call for periods of 24x7 support.

The SSA shall assist the customer for all the functional areas which may include:
"¢ Proactive and reactive response to Remedy based trouble and incident tickets
"¢ Support software and hardware transitions
"¢ Software installs
"¢ Hardware/software troubleshooting
"¢ Customer desk-side and remote assistance
"¢ Security Plan documentation/maintenance
"¢ Set up, configure, and maintain user accounts and profiles
"¢ Engineer, configure and perform backup solutions
"¢ Active Directory and User Group maintenance
"¢ Security and Configuration Management
"¢ User data and server restoration

Required Skills:
- MUST have active TS/SCI clearance (no exceptions)
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- End-User IT Desktop Support
- Experience with one or more of the following; UNIX, Solaris 8-10, Windows XP, WIN7, shell scripting, Net App servers, SMS, and SCCM

Desired Skills:
- Java, C++, J2EE
- Web services
- Technical understanding of one or more primary production applications (ArcGIS, RemoteView, Google Earth, Socet GXP, and/or ENVI) Thick thin web-based applications
- SOA concepts and technologies
- Standards such as OGC Web Services, XML, and SOAP
- Visualization and mapping skills
- ArcIMS ArcGIS Servers
- ITIL v3 Foundations
- Security + or other DoD 8570.01M certification
- Geospatial Analysis and modeling
- Previous experience with WALA architecture
- Thin Client using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Technology
- Desktop Video Teleconference experience i.e. Tandberg Desktop

Required Education (including Major): BS in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, military or work experience. At least 4 years of directly related experience.
