Join the Extra Care team responsible for supporting our top customer's on Oracle's most active products. Tasks will include troubleshooting, debugging and fixing the Solaris operating system components. Workload will consist primarily of customer reported software defects but will also include doing whatever it takes to ensure successful deployment of these products running Solaris. You must be able to work under pressure, be very motivated and a fast learner. You must also be willing to travel both domestically and internationally to assist with on-site debugging and fixing (travel is limited). - Full-time with full Oracle benefits; sorry no corp to corps or 1099 - Locations: San Diego, Santa Clara, Broomfield, Austin, and Burlington Work on a world class team, consisting of the best and brightest engineers in the industry. You will work on the premier, industry leading and most innovative operating systems and database technologies. Members of our team investigate the most complex unresolved cases. Unlike pure development groups who focus on specific areas, we have to draw on both breadth and depth of experience to analyze the data and root cause the product defect that caused the problem. Once the root cause is identified, we are responsible for correcting the offending code and integrating the fix back into the product. This technically very challenging role can involve working under pressure, especially when we're called in to extremely hot issues that have visibility at the highest executive levels. Our portfolio includes most of Oracle's software technologies, including the Solaris OS and kernel, drivers, file systems, networking, appliance, service processors/system controller firmware, OS security (including but not limited to Cryptography, Authentication, Network Security, Roles, Auditing, Trusted Extensions), and more. You will be immersed in one or more of these technologies at the deepest level, combining special knowledge in some with an in-depth knowledge of many. You will be or become an expert in C, UNIX, operating system internals, and more.
