Solution Consulting Lead

The KP-Orchestra Solution Architecture Consultant is a new position in the Health Information Exchange organization within Kaiser Permanente IT. The HIE group is an organization serving the health exchange needs across the KP program and regions. The position will be accountable for contributing subject matter expertise to the development and maintenance of health information exchange architecture and roadmap. The role will work with the Solution Architecture and Development Lead to help ensure implementation of sound HIE architecture and design in compliance with relevant KP and government policies and standards. The position requires close collaboration with the requirements lead, testing lead, business stakeholders and IT partners. On-time and on-budget platform, service and project delivery is a key requirement of this position. Essential Functions: - Provide definition, oversight and the coordination of the HIE platform architectural strategy roadmap and implementation. - Strategize and consult with other IT areas and products/programs on the HIE architecture solution. - Collaborate with vendors to deliver products that will enable the target Kaiser HIE architecture. - Apply architectural principles, guidelines, standards, reference architecture, patterns frameworks to deliver consistent and cost effective frameworks for re-use. - Be able to quickly understand and synthesize the business requirements and help the various stakeholders in visualizing the solution. - Strong leadership skills to bring all the stakeholders together; consensus builder and thought leader. - Highly skilled at creating executive level summaries from ground level work up to high level abstract strategies. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 4 years of equivalent experience. - 8+ years of progressive experience in solution architecture roles in custom system development environments - 3+ years of application development experience in a web application or distributed computing environment, with solid understanding of programming languages, frameworks and related development tools - Solid experience as a member of virtual teams - 5+ years of experience with software development methodologies including Agile and SDLC - Strong understanding of health information exchange standards (i.e. NwHIN, CCD/CDA) and components (i.e. MPI, CDR) - Knowledge of Epic's Care (KP HealthConnect) HIE module functionality - Strong, inter-personnel, collaboration and consultative skills - Solid understanding of application infrastructure requirements and planning in a high-availability environment - Proven track record of implementing and actively managing fundamental architectural frameworks, methodologies, and architectures. - Proven track record on contributing to the development of a health information exchange platform architecture - Proven track record collaborating successfully with third party vendors - Good understanding and knowledge of health information technology solutions and stacks Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in healthcare industry - Experience working for large organizations - Experience in cross-organizational teaming environments - Master's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
