Solutions Architect
Solutions Architect - London - £550 per day
A leading global consultancy is looking for Solutions Architects to join their banking and financial services technology consulting team. As a Solutions Architect you will be responsible for the definition of Solution Architecture for large strategic programmes and definition of Architecture Strategy for Business Units within a key external client. This will include:
- Taking a lead role in identifying, selecting and aligning the services of the group with the technology, frameworks, process, policies and standards to be able to deliver solutions architecture services.
- Deliver comprehensive architectural solutions across multiple technologies, platforms, functional and industry domains using diverse tools, frameworks and technologies.
- Devising innovative approaches for delivering tailored solutions to the external clients.
- Develop relationships with senior client stakeholders in both the business and technology departments.
You will need the following knowledge/experience:
- You must have a strong background as a Solutions Architect of technology within the banking and financial services sector. This could be from investment/retail/wholesale banking, asset/wealth management, the payments industry or risk/finance.
- You must have gravitas and be able to convey knowledge in an impressive manner when engaging with senior internal and external clients.
- Communicate thought-leadership concepts clearly and effectively to people from technical, business and senior managerial backgrounds including translation of complex information technology concepts into abstract or business language.
In addition, you will need technical expertise in a number of the following areas:
- Applications Architecture and related domains.
- Data Architecture and related domains.
- Business Architecture.
- EA Governance.
- Security Architecture.
- Project/Programme Management and Execution e.g. Performance Mgt and Capacity Planning.
- Broad knowledge of JavaEE,.NET 3.0+, Open Source and other Technology domains and frameworks e.g. Web 2.0+ and how they may be leveraged to achieve value-adds for Clients.
- Familiarity with software offerings from major software vendors e.g. IBM, TIBCO, Microsoft, SUN and Other 3rd Party Software Suites and Solutions.
- Familiarity with relevant compliance and regulatory legislation.
- Familiarity with identification, evaluation and selection of new or innovative IT technologies or trends e.g. M-commerce, Policy-driven Architectures, CLOUD (*aaS), Semantic Web, Impact-focused Security Assessments.
The role is for a London based consultancy; however, they will be regular travel to client sites across the UK with occasional trips to the US, Europe and Asia.
