Specialist - Sales

Responsible for the development, implementation and analysis of sales strategy, programs and reports designed to drive revenue and market share performance for the big three Global travel agency accounts in aggregate as well as at the OD level. Analyzes and summarizes market and account performance using a variety of sources including MIDT, Revenue Pipeline, Corporate Data Solution (CDS) and external sources such as DOT data. Identifies and communicates opportunities to increase revenues, shift market share, reduce costs and improve business processes. Responsible for modeling agency incentive programs to optimize agreement return on investment. Heavily engaged in ad hoc investigation of share and revenue opportunities and obstacles. Prepares internal communications to include ad hoc reports, executive summaries and formal presentations. Responsible for mining competitive market information to monitor and explain performance impact. Works closely with Sales Development and Sales Operations analyst teams, front-line sales, and in some cases directly with accounts to understand performance drivers. Responsible for engaging various departments at World Headquarters in support of all sales related matters (Pricing, Inventory Management, Network, Marketing, Airport Customer Service, etc.) Supports corporate initiatives such "Win in New York" and Focus Markets by developing robust reporting, performance metrics and processes.
Bachelor's degree in a business or analytical discipline required and 3 years equivalent work experience is preferred, MBA preferred. General knowledge of Delta's markets and competitive market position, sales strategies, programs, processes, tools and infrastructure is highly desirable; travel industry sales/marketing experience is a plus. Should be solution-oriented, multi-task capable and have demonstrated the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment. Demonstrates initiative and self-directs work. Should possess strong analytical and computer skills, sound organizational and planning skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to make sound business decisions. Highly proficient PC skills including advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point are required. Microsoft Access and Hyperion/BRIO skills along with working knowledge of Revenue Pipeline and MIDT tables in enterprise warehouse highly desirable. Awareness or experience with other industry data sources such as DOT Survey data and ARC data valuable. Experience with independently preparing analytical power point presentations for use by senior leadership highly desirable. Must be willing and able to travel occasionally.
