Specialist, eBay Inc. Global PR is responsible for supporting the global PR team that is telling the eBay global commerce platform story to media and influencers around the world. This person will support our strategies for driving earned and owned media via traditional and social channels. Core to our narrative is shifting perception of eBay from ecommerce leader to a stronger, more diverse global commerce company shaping the future of shopping and payments. This function will is also support the PR team when building rapid-response strategies to issues impacting the reputation of eBay with key stakeholders and media. Specialist, Global PR possesses a minimum of 3 years of experience and will support the team as they drive the narrative across the eBay Inc. portfolio - eBay Marketplaces, PayPal, GSI and X.commerce. He/she is skilled at storytelling and crafting creative, innovative tactics that generate cut-through media coverage aligned to business goals and objectives. He/she should be a self-starter, detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency and excellent writing skills. This function will play a key role, supporting the eBay Inc. corporate PR teams objectives as they drive strategic PR campaigns through tactical, comprehensive and measurable programs. Support the PR strategies and programs that drive proactive and reactive corporate reputation communications, quarterly financial reporting, MA communications, crisis communications and general corporate PR at the eBay Inc. level. Work with extended PayPal, GSI, X.commerce, StubHub, and Marketplaces PR team to implement these strategies with tactical programs that deliver measurable results. Help to write and edit press materials including press releases, pitches, briefing sheets, press kit materials, fact sheets, source and brief testimonials and case studies. Compile insightful data asks, working with analytics to pull the right metrics and translate for media consumption and leadership positioning. Work with business unit PR colleagues in coordinating the distribution of news through traditional news releases and blog postings. Foster relationships with traditional and social media and influencers for media coverage and award opportunities. Monitor incoming press inquiries from the hotline and third party press releases, making a recommendation on approach and working with the appropriate business partners to activate quickly and deliberately. Schedule, coordinate and plan media briefings, media backgrounders, and related desk sides in support of eBay Inc.'s media mapping program. Monitor late-breaking eBay, competitor and trend stories that would be of immediate interest to the team. Manage all media logistics around press events, trade shows, and presentations.
