Water We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
Seeking an entry level Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analyst for the Austin, TX Watershed Concepts division. The ideal candidate will possess 0-2 years of technical experience in the application of GIS technologies. Common job tasks will include map production, data acquisition, management of geospatial databases, data processing, and production of GIS and non-GIS products to support reports and presentations.
Education Cognitive Skills:
- Possess a BS/BA in GIS or Geospatial Science, Geography, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Strong problem solving skills. Particularly related to the use of supporting applications and technologies.
- Well developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to support working with staff and clients locally and remotely.
- Detail oriented and can focus on producing quality product even under demanding circumstances and/or while working with multiple deadlines.
Required Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS suite of products including ArcGIS (version 9 and up) including modules and extensions.
- Understanding of Geographic Information System standards, practices and procedures.
- Proficiency with AutoDesk AutoCAD Map (or similar).
- Working knowledge of data interoperability, projections, coordinate systems and data transformations.
- Use of geodatabases and tools to manage geospatial data.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (primarily Excel and Word).
